salvaging....
ok seriously, you have this kit for salvaging and you can only come up with 1 piece of wood or metal or cloth? heck, i can salvage a t-shirt with some scissors and come up with 500 pieces of cloth, and my scissors will last way more than 25 times
also the fur is so hard to find in this game, i could salvage a dead bear into lots of fur pieces....
p.s. i love guild wars, i am just bein stupid here, but post your own salvage comments too

Yes, but those 500 pieces of cloth won't be terribly large or useful. When you consider that fabric is normally sold by the yard, if you can get even a single bolt of cloth out of a tee shirt, I'll be really impressed.

Yes, but again, cutting it into really small pieces isn't helpful here. Your crafter needs a continuous yard of the stuff to cut out the proper shape for your armor.

Me too. Just pointing out it's not as outrageous as it sounds. Now, getting 9 bolts of cloth from one item is amazing! You could make a tent out of that shirt!
Come to think of it, why does my crafter need enough cloth to outfit a small village just to make my armor? I think I smell a rat...

Speaking of salvages, I am choked. I an a necro primary and I decided NOT to keep the PILES of tanned hide squares and bones that seemed to throw themselves at me throughout the beginning of the game for so long. I think I am just gonna delete my charecter and restart with all that stuff easily available lol.

Just keep going..I have just passed Yak's bend and did two missions last night, salvaging every single item I found.
I got around 20 tanned hides, and a purple rune item.
The materials do become easier to find as the game goes on.

The difference is, it gives you a chance of getting rare crafting supplies, runes, upgrades, etc. It's still not a sure thing, however, you may still only wind up with some cloth...

Where do you get expert salvaging kits? I've found several runes in armor and stiff (but sold them to my detriment).
